Our Response to the New FCC Microinverter Requirements: Security by Design Since 2021

Recent reports, including an article published by PV Magazine, have highlighted new actions by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regarding connected solar inverters and other grid-connected devices.

As discussions around cybersecurity and critical infrastructure continue to evolve, we want to explain what these developments mean and why our product architecture has always been built with security, transparency, and reliability in mind.

More importantly, we made a strategic engineering decision to develop our own communications platform instead of relying entirely on third-party communications solutions.

Every one of our microinverters routes its communications through a communications board that was designed and developed by our own engineering team.

The firmware running on this communications hardware is also developed and maintained internally by our software engineers.
